CEASE-FIRE AND REACTION:
A ceasefire deal was finalized between Ukraine and Russia after talks in Saudi Arabia. Ukraine agreed to a 30-day pause in fighting as part of the agreement. U.S. military aid to Ukraine has restarted following a temporary hold. Arms shipments and intelligence support are now flowing back to Ukraine. Russian leaders are showing little excitement about the ceasefire deal. Russia prefers a long-term resolution over this short-term truce. Russia recently claimed control of Sudzha in Kursk Oblast.
TRUST IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS:
Trump believes in his good relationship with Putin. Keith Kellogg’s current role or status remains unclear after Trump’s team shifts. George Shultz once said trust is key to diplomacy, a quote still relevant today.

Putin visited Kursk, possibly to boost morale or signal strength amid the ceasefire.
